OK I Lied, last week-end was not the last meet of the season,   the 6s and 7 snuck on one last meet this weekend.

Level 6-  Sarah  took 1st on All Around and 2nd on Vault, Bars, and Floor.  Emily   1st on Vault, 2nd on All Around  and 3rd on Beam .  Alexi took 1st on Bars.

Level 9 State Meet at UNH.

It was so great to see so many teammates come out to cheer on our amazing Jackie at her State meet.  It was inspiring to watch Jackie go out there and give it her all,  everyone is so proud of you!

The Last JO meets of the season before States! Starlight Invitational and Bow Sectional.

It is hard to believe that another competitive season is coming to a close for our JO team.  This week-end our level 3s and 4s traveled to Bow NH for a sectional meet, while the level 5s, 6s, 7 and 9s traveled to the Starlight Invitational at MIT.

Ahh mid-Feburuary meet, The Friendship Classic.

Well, maybe not quite Mid February but it sounded nice right?  The Friendship Classic brings the Excel teams and Level 6 & 7 Ladies to Bow New Hampshire.
Our lone Level 7 had an excellent showing at the meet!

JO at the Frostbite Invite, Xcel Bronze at Valentine Masquerade Ball

This week the JO levels headed to Biddeford Maine to compete in the Frostbite Invite Hosted by Dudziaks's school of Gymnastics.  Not only did all our gymnasts leave Maine with a  very impressive showing, but 2 of our gymnasts were honored with the Iceberg Award for having the highest overall score of their entire session.  CONGRATS to Brooklyn Judge, Level 4, who won it with a 37.025 AA AND to Anne Quinn, Level 3 with a 36.950.  To top it off all 4 levels, with enough girls to compete for the team awards,  won new team banners for the Gym.  The Level 3s took home 1st place team honors, The Level 6s took home 2nd place, and the Level 4s and 5s won 3rd place.

Meanwhile, the Xcel Bronze team competed in the Valentine Masquerade Ball Saturday,  Well done ladies for your 2nd meet of the season!  Keep up the great work!

A divide and Conquer week-end. Optionals competed at the Team Challenge, while the Compulsory levels went to a Sectional.

It had to be a BUSY week-end for our coaches.  Our Optionals Level 6s and 7 had to head to Connecticut Thursday to start out the meet.  Our Level 9 followed on Friday.

 Sunday it was a level 3-5 girls turn at a sectional meet.  All 3 levels were able to compete in the same session together, lucky for us parents to have a bigger selection of floor music to listen to.  Good thing we had 3 great coaches there, because there were times that 3 different events had an OTW group competing at the same time!

Northeast Invite at Hartford CT.

As January is quickly coming to a close, we find ourselves traveling to Hartford, CT for the Northeast Invite.  I think it would be fair to say that quite a few of our families found themselves caught in a surprise snow storm at some point in their travels on Saturday.  AH, part of the joys of New England winters. 

This year, some people will leave this meet with clanging medals, personal best scores and stories about having to drive in the surprise snowstorm. The level 4s were part of a much more exciting and proud moment for OTW. There is no doubt that the people who run the Northeast Invite have a passion for the sport and the kids. I mean what amazing motivation and joy they share at the awards ceremony. They have also added a Spirit of the Sport award in memory of a Joan Hicks, a person wildly respected at this event. At the level 4 session the announcer starts raving about the team chosen, I feel a tap on My shoulder, it is Coach Becky letting me know he is talking about OTW.  Yes, he is talking about our gym, bu,t he is really talking about one gymnast.  She not even a level 4 gymnast,  It is too bad Hannah E. and her family were not there to be part of the wonderful acknowledgement of what Hannah wrote on her Dream snowflake that won us the spirit do the sport, Joan Hicks award.   Her dream was for a teammate and a friend Katie, a level 4.  Her dream was wish she would find her confidence and believe in herself. She believed her friend was a strong and great gymnast and wished to see her do well and I whole heartedly  agree!   It was by far one of the most memorable moments I have been a part of in this competition world. It is always great to learn a great life lesson from a wicked fabulous kid in our life. We have some amazing kids and coaches at our gym!!

The Northeast Invite team awards is based on taking the top 5 scores, unlike the normal top 3 scores The Level 6 (was actually top 4 scores I guess) and level 3 teams only were the only  2 OTW levels with enough gymnasts to qualify I believe.  AND, BOTH teams brought home a new Team banner to sign and hang in the gym.  Congrats to the level 6 ladies for winning the 3rd place team banner and the Level 3 girls for winning the 2nd place team banner, you make us all proud.

Level 5- Hannah   took 1st on Bars,  2nd on Vault and All Around.  Lilly took 2nd on Vault, 3rd on Bars, Beam, Floor and All Around. 

Level 6- Sarah  1st on Bars,  2nd on Vault, Floor, and All Around.  Caitlin took 1st on Vault, 3rd on Floor and All Around.  Emily took 1st on Vault.  Alexi took 3rd on Vault, Bars and Beam.
Level 7- Jordan  took 1st on Vault, Bars, Floor, All Around and  3rd on Beam.

Level 4- Rya took 2nd on Vault, Bars, Beam and All Around and 3rd on floor.  Brooklyn took 2nd on Vault and Bars.  Katie took 2nd on Bars.
Level 9- Jackie took 1st on Beam. 

Level 3- Phoebe took 2nd place on Vault and All Around and 3rd place on Bars, Beam, and Floor.  Ruby took 3rd on Bars and Floor.  Anne took 1st on Bars and 2nd on Vault, Beam and All Around.  Emily took 2nd on Beam. Ava took 3rd on Beam.

 

 

The Level 5 ladies had the pleasure of starting off OTW's competition bright and early Saturday morning.  Our ladies never disappoint giving us a solid performance.

Winter Carnival part 2, level 3-9

So last week the Excel team competed in the Winter Carnival Invitational, this week-end it was the JO level 3-9 girls turn to represent Off the Wall.

Let's give a big OTW salute to our 1st- 3rd place Podium girls of the meet!

 

Level 3- Anne   took 1st in Bars, Beam floor & All Around and 2nd on vault.  Brooke took 2nd on Beam and All Around and 3rd on Vault.  Emily took 1st on Vault and 3rd on Bars and All Around.  Phoebe took 2nd on Bars and 3rd on Floor.  Ruby took 2nd on Vault and Floor and 3rd on Beam.  Hannah took 2nd on Floor and All Around and 3rd on Vault and Beam. 

Level 4-  Brooklyn took 1st and Floor,  2nd on Beam and All Around and 3rd on Vault and Bars.  Rya took 1st on Floor, 2nd on Vault and All Around, and 3rd on Beam.  Sarah took 2nd on Beam and Floor and 3rd on Bars.

Level 5-   took 1st on Vault, Beam and All around, 2nd on floor and 3rd on Bars.  Lilly took 2nd on Floor.

Level 9-  Jackie took 1st on Beam and Floor and 3rd on All around.

Level 7-  Jordan took first on Vault and Bars and 2nd on All Around.

Level 6-  Sarah took 1st on Bars. Floor and All around.  Caitlin took 1st on Vault, 2nd on All Around and 3rd on Beam.  Emily took 3rd on Vault.  Alexi took 2nd on bars.

 

Saturday saw the Level 3, 4 and 5 teams show up to Cooperative Middle School in Statham NH to kick off the week-end.  All 3 teams earned banners to hang up in the gym for placing as a team in their sessions.  Have fun signing you banners ladies!  Congrats to the level 3 girls for winning a 2nd place team banner, Level 4 girls for winning a 3rd place team banner, and the level 5 girls for winning a 6th place team banner. 

Level 3s were the first group to start for OTW.
